We also get to see how others have survived without the advantages of the bunker. Their lives aren’t as structured, sure, but they’ve carved out existences. Some people we meet are harmless. Others? Not so much.”

As for how Xavier will navigate this new world:

“There’s more than one way to get from point A to point B. Sure, John Candy and Steve Martin taught us about planes, trains, and automobiles—but remember the EMP the president triggered in episode 7? That’s going to play a big role in transportation. Flying everywhere isn’t an option, or it would disconnect the story. At some point, you’ve got to hit the ground and interact with the world.”

His destination? Atlanta. That’s where Xavier believes his wife—still alive, in his mind—is waiting for him. And while his journey takes him far from the bunker, Brown confirms that Paradise itself won’t be forgotten. Plenty will still unfold within its walls. Fans can also expect more of James Marsden in presidential flashback scenes, though likely fewer than in season 1. Marsden is busy with other projects—joining the cast of Your Friends and Neighbors on Apple TV and returning as Cyclops in Avengers: Doomsday, reviving the role after two decades.

Another exciting addition? Shailene Woodley is joining the season 2 cast. She plays a character Xavier encounters on the surface, and Brown had high praise for her after filming. “She’s outstanding,” he said, hinting at a meaningful new alliance.

As for when we’ll see it—there’s still no official release date. The current expectation is early 2026. The creator wants to avoid a massive delay between seasons, though given the nature of streaming, it could still stretch to a year and a half.
